☀️ A Morning on Preachers Rock and a Sip of Nostalgia in Cleveland, GA

This past weekend, I found myself in the hills near Cleveland, Georgia — a small town with big views and even better coffee. If you're looking for a short, rewarding hike with stunning scenery (and a side of nostalgia), this one's for you.

🥾 The Hike: Preachers Rock

We started the morning with a quick but beautiful hike to Preachers Rock, a 2-mile round trip trail on the Appalachian Trail near Woody Gap. The path was a mix of shaded forest and rocky stretches, but nothing too intense.

Once you reach the overlook, it all pays off. You can see for miles — rolling blue ridges, valleys below, and endless sky. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to stay awhile, breathe deeper, and forget about your phone (except for a quick photo, of course).

☕ Post-Hike Pick-Me-Up: JumpinGoat Coffee Roasters

After the hike, we headed to JumpinGoat Coffee Roasters, just a short drive away. Let me tell you — the views here rivaled the ones on the trail. Set on a scenic hillside, the outdoor patio is the perfect place to cool off and sip something great.

I ordered an Iced Oat Milk Latte that hit the spot — smooth, bold, and just the right amount of chill. If you're into coffee with a view (and I know you are), JumpinGoat is a must-visit.

👶 One Last Stop: A Bit of Childhood Magic

No trip to Cleveland is complete without a stop at Babyland General Hospital, home of the original Cabbage Patch Kids. As someone who loved these as a kid, walking through the whimsical displays brought back all the feels. It’s quirky, nostalgic, and pure North Georgia charm.

🚗 If You Go:

  • Trailhead: Start at Woody Gap Parking Area

  • Trail: 2 miles round trip to Preachers Rock

  • Coffee: JumpinGoat Coffee Roasters in Cleveland, GA

  • Bonus Stop: Babyland General Hospital

This little mountain escape had everything I love: a trail with a view, a locally roasted latte, and a dash of childhood wonder. Let me know if you’ve been to Preachers Rock — or if you have a favorite hike + coffee pairing nearby!

Thanks for walking with me,
Kasey
